The second dose of COVID-19 vaccine was given to Buddhist monks, religious leaders and civil service personnel at the hall of Anawrahta in the town of Chaung-U, Sagaing Region yesterday.
First, medical workers led by Captain Aung Moe Thu from No. 7 Military Medical Unit in the town of Monywa provided necessary medical check-up to people who will receive COVID-19 vaccine before administering the vaccine.
Afterwards, medical workers administered the vaccine to people including Buddhist monks, religious leaders and civil service personnel in line with Covid-19 health guidelines set by Ministry of Health and Sports. At the event, the Township Administrator U Aung Baw and members provided necessary assistance to medical workers.
In Chaung-U Township, 500 people including civil service personnel, monks, religious leaders and elderly people above 65 years old have been received first dose of Covid-19 vaccine while 500 people including elderly people above 65 years old have been administered second dose of Covid-19 vaccine so far.
As of May 20, a total of 1000 people have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in the township, according to an official from the Township General Administration Department.—Win Myint Aung
