Mandalay, 17 June

A monsoon tree planting event was held at 7:30 a.m. today on the campus of the Government Technical College in Patheingyi Township, Aung Myay Thar San District, Mandalay Region.

The event was attended by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, regional ministers, rectors from universities and colleges, as well as departmental officials.

The Chief Minister delivered an opening speech, after which he observed attendees planting saplings. A total of 870 saplings from 14 different tree species were planted during the ceremony.

Following the planting, the Chief Minister toured an exhibition organized in observance of the 2025 World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought.— Township IPRD
