Under the guidance of Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF), members of MRF and members of Myanmar Rice Merchants Association across the nation provided a total of 2250 bags of rice, 370 bags of chemical fertilizer and K 20 million to flood victims in Mon State on 12 August, according to the MRF.
The occasion was graced by Chairman of National Disaster Management Committee Vice President U Henry Van Thio, Mon State Chief Minister Dr. Aye Zan, officials and members of Myanmar Rice Federation and Myanmar Rice Merchant Association. Next, chairman of MRF U Ye Min Aung and chairman of Myanmar Rice Millers’ Association U Kyaw Win on behalf of donors furnished flood victims with cash aids and bags of rice and chemical fertilizer.
Mon State is one of the most affected areas by flooding and landslide in Myanmar. Accordingly, more than 15,000 people have been displaced and death toll in the landslide reached 60 during this year, according to Mon State Government.
