Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV) celebrated its 73rd anniversary at the MRTV Auditorium yesterday afternoon. Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint attended and addressed the event.
The Union Minister said after two years from now the 75th Diamond Jubilee of MRTV will be held. Time to prepare for the Diamond Jubilee had arrived. It will be an honor for the staff to serve in MRTV as it reaches Diamond Jubilee and to participate in the Jubilee event.


For staff who are serving in MRTV, as it reaches 73rd anniversary, are also persons who think theirselve lucky. Departments and organisations that work with and for the public become valuable as it come of age.


Myanmar Radio was in existence before independence and had passed through political changes as well as armed insurgency period. It had faced and overcome many changes throughout this time.
All need to strive toward continued existence into the future through the changing political, economic and technology changes, said the Union Minister.


The Union Minister then presented the Best Public Servant Awards for 2018 to outstanding personnel, followed by Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun presenting prizes for Best Program/Short Story Award winners.


Next, Director General U Myint Htwe presented certificate of honors to retired MRTV personnel and on behalf of MRTV former employees association, Chairman U Myint Aung presented the Director General with a flower bouquet.


Finally the Union Minister, Deputy Minister, Permanent Secretary and Directors General picked lucky draws for all the personnel.


Later in the evening an anniversary entertainment program was conducted and was attended by Union Minister Dr. Pe Myint and wife, Deputy Minister U Aung Hla Tun and wife, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Kyi Min and wife, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung and wife, directors general, invited departmental guest, staff and families.


Myanmar Radio Modern Music Troupe, famous singers and award winning singers from peace music festival performed in the entertainment program. — MNA (Translated by Zaw Min)
