Local farmers in Mudon Township of Mon State have earmarked to plant 1,000 acres of summer paddy, using agricultural water through a network of canals and ditches from the dam in 2024-2025 Fiscal year, according to the Township Agriculture Department.

Officials from the Township Agriculture department are providing technical assistance to farmers starting from the second week of December this year in line with the guidance of the State Government.

To ensure agricultural success and boost summer paddy yields, staff from the Township Agriculture Department are making field trips and providing farmers with necessary assistance such as agricultural techniques, good quality seeds, fertilizer, methods of planting and prevention of pest infestation in collaboration with relevant farmers in the Township.—Aung Myo Thu (IPRD)
