Mong Tung, 3 January
A ceremony to open a multi-purpose hall to commemorate 76th Anniversary of Independence Day was held in Naungyarsai-2 Village, Mong Tung Township of eastern Shan State yesterday morning.
During the ceremony, an official from the District Department of Rural Development delivered an opening speech. Next, an official from the Township Department of Rural Development explained matters relating to the construction works of the hall. Then, a community leader spoke words of thanks to officials for building the hall in the village.
The hall was inaugurated by officials from the Township and District Departments of Rural Development, the village Administrator and community leaders by cutting a ceremonial ribbon.
The village hall which is 50 ft. long, 30 ft. wide and 12 ft. high was built at a cost of more than K 18.37 million including K 15.0 million funded under the community-centered project and K 3.37 million contributed by local people.—Maung Khaing(IPRD)
