A multiplier training course for volunteers was opened at Anawrahta Hall in ChaungU Township, Sagaing Region on Tuesday.
Sagaing Region Minister for Social Affairs Dr. Zaw Win delivered an opening speech. According to the regional minister, the training course is the first f its kind in Sagaing Region and it is opened in accordance with the guidance issued by the Ministry of Health and Sports. The local government would provide necessary teaching aid materials to the course and upon completion, the trainees would be presented awards and certificates after they served 21 days as volunteers. The two-day training course is being attended by 281 trainees who are currently serving as volunteers at quarantine centers in the township.
Also present on the occasion were Director of the Department of Social Welfare Daw Thandar Htwe, Chairman of Monywa District Management Committee U Aung Myint Soe, and Chairman of the township management committee Township Administrator U Aung Baw.—Ei Ei Aung (IPRD)
