A mushroom growing course was opened in the training hall of the Township Agriculture Department in Yedashe Township, Taungoo district, Bago region this morning. The course was organized by Taungoo District Agriculture Department with the aim of helping farmers generate family incomes by growing a variety of mushrooms on a manageable scale.
At the event, Director U Hla Myint of Bago Region Agriculture Department the origin of mushrooms, saying that families can generate incomes and gain economic advantages by growing mushrooms. Then, Township Administrator U Min Naing Aung urged the trainees to study the course enthusiastically, to apply the methods accrued in the course in growing mushrooms in their regions and to share the methods with other growers.
A total of 40 trainees from Taungoo, Yedashe, Htantabin, Oaktwin, Phyu and Kyaukkyi townships are attending the five-day course that will end on May 3.—Ko Lwin (Swa)
