ON 24 March, the second day of the Mann Shwesettaw Festival in Minbu (Saku) Township, Minbu District, Magway Region, featured a music concert and traditional Kayin folk dances.

In the morning, the Taungkalay folk dance troupe from Hpa-an, Kayin State, performed traditional Kayin folk dances.

The evening music concert took place near the special bridge of the Mann Shwesettaw Pagoda, starting at 7 pm. Artistes performed both traditional Myanmar and modern music free of charge, attracting a large audience of pilgrims and locals from across the country.

The festival is particularly crowded with pilgrims and travellers from all over Myanmar, as it coincides with the end of basic education school and matriculation exams. — Region IPRD/MKKS
