STATE Administration Council Member General Nyo Saw, Un­ion Minister for Investment and Foreign Economic Relations Dr Kan Zaw and Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn received a delegation led by Mr Maxim Ryzhenkov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bela­rus, in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

During the meeting, they discussed signing an agreement on cooperation in bilateral devel­opment programmes between the two countries, promising business cooperation, invest­ment in agriculture, livestock and dairy produce, value-added commodities and food produc­tion, electricity, industry, automo­bile assembly, medicine and raw medical supplies production and investment opportunities at the Thilawa Special Economic Zone.

 

Belarusian Foreign Min­ister then highlighted the mu­tually beneficial trading and economic policies of Belarus and discussed matters on in­vestments in Myanmar’s milk and dairy production, natural gas to fertilizer manufacturing, medicine and medical supplies production including human and veterinary medicines, holding of Myanmar-Belarus Joint Com­mittee on Trade and Economic Cooperation meeting, transfer of technologies for investments in Myanmar and signing of agree­ments on cooperation in science and technology.

 

After the meeting, Direc­tor-General Dr Marlar Myo Nyunt of the Foreign Economic Relations Department and Be­larusian Director-General Mr Dimitry Mironchik of the Direc­torate of Asia, Africa and Latin America initialled the coopera­tion agreement.

 

Afterwards, SAC Member General Nyo Saw, Union Minis­ters and the Belarusian Foreign Minister posed for the documen­tary photo and exchanged gifts.

 

Also, present at the meeting were officials from the SAC Of­fice, the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations and the Ministry of Commerce. —MNA/KTZH
