Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Minister for Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lt-Gen Viktar Gennadievich Khrenin cordially discussed further enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries after turning the 25-year diplomatic relations.

 

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Minister for Defence of the Republic of Belarus Lt-Gen Viktar Gennadievich Khrenin who attended the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day parade at the parlour of Zeyathiri Beikman in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.

 

At the meeting, the Senior General expressed thanks to the Belarusian Defence Minister for attending the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day ceremony and warmly welcomed them. The Belarusian Minister for Defence said that he took pride in attending the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day ceremony at the invitation of the Senior General and presented a message of felicitations for the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day of Myanmar sent by Belarusian President Mr Alexander Lukashenko to the Senior General.

 

They cordially discussed further enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries after turning the 25-year diplomatic relations, continuous implementation of the agreements conducted on the official State visit of the Prime Minister to the Republic of Belarus, and promotion of cooperation in all sectors including defence and military technology, science and technology, agriculture and livestock, manufacturing, investment, bilateral trade, industrial, economic and manufacturing of pharmaceutical sectors.

 

They also exchanged views on cooperation in the development of human resources, efforts to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in future, exchange of goodwill visits of high-ranking officers between the two countries, political progress of Myanmar, repeatedly preventing internal and external dangers by the Tatmadaw in experiencing various political systems in successive eras, and preparations to hold a free and fair multiparty democratic general election.

 

The Senior General presented a medal in commemoration of the 80th Anniversary of Armed Forces Day to the Belarusian Minister for Defence who returned gifts to the Senior General.

 

Also, present at the meeting were SAC Vice-Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander- in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Defence General Maung Maung Aye, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Kyaw Swa Lin and senior Tatmadaw officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief. The Belarusian Minister for Defence was accompanied by Belarusian Ambassador to Myanmar Mr Uladzimir Baravikou, Deputy Minister for Defence Maj Gen Andrei Valerianovich Burdyko, senior military officers from Belarus, the Military Attaché of Belarus to Myanmar and officials. — MNA/
