The Prime Minister’s visit to Russia is expected to significantly strengthen bilateral ties and foster enhanced cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, economy, health, energy, security, and cultural exchange.

 

STATE Administration Council Chairman Prime Minister Sen­ior General Min Aung Hlaing, who is currently in the Russian Fed­eration at the invitation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, held an exclusive meeting with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Pu­tin at Kremlin Palace in Moscow yes­terday evening.

 

The Senior General was cordially greeted by the President of the Russian Federation before the meeting.

 

The meeting was also attended by SAC Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council Member General Nyo Saw, Union Ministers U Than Swe and Admiral Moe Aung, and Myanmar Am­bassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Linn Ohn. The President of the Russian Federation was accompanied by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Foreign Relations Assistant Officer for the Foreign Policy of the President of the Russian Federation, the Minister for Industry and Trade, and officials as well as heads of the government.

 

At the meeting, President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin said that he was delighted to meet the Prime Minister for the second time. The current visit of the Prime Minister will greatly contribute to strength­ening the friendship and co­operation between the two countries. During this visit, agreements for bilateral coop­eration will be signed. Trade re­lations between our two nations have also improved compared to the past. Moreover, the two countries continue to collabo­rate on international platforms. Once again, he expressed his pleasure in their meeting here in Moscow.

 

In his speech, the Senior General said that he thanked the President for the meeting in Moscow. It was the second meeting now after the meeting at the 7th Far East Economic Forum. Russia is a good and long-time friend of Myanmar. Despite the geographical dis­tance, both countries share a close and friendly relation­ship. Historically, Myanmar and Russia have been maintaining cooperation and understand­ing. The diplomatic relations between the two nations have now reached the 77th anniver­sary. Meetings and discussions like this are highly beneficial for both countries. The Senior General said he would also like to express his gratitude for this opportunity in dialogue.

 

They also exchanged views on the enhancement of friendly relations and cooperation be­tween the two countries, man­ufacturing and trade measures, economic development mat­ters, cooperation in investment, agriculture and livestock and other sectors.

 

The Senior General and the President of the Russian Fed­eration attended the bilateral meeting.

 

At the meeting, ministers from both countries discussed the education and health sector, science and technology sector, manufacturing and trade sec­tor, economic sector and pros­pects of cooperation in other sectors. The Senior General and the Russian Federation President had necessary dis­cussions.

 

Next, the agreements and memoranda of understanding were exchanged between the two governments. In the pres­ence of the Senior General and the Russian Federation Presi­dent, the Myanmar Ambassa­dor to the Russian Federation and relevant Union ministers and relevant ministers and of­ficials from the Russian Fed­eration signed the agreements and exchanged notes. These agreements and MoU were the agreement on education qualification identification and bilateral recognition of degrees between the two countries, memoranda of understanding on taxation, MoU on health issues, memoranda of coop­eration in culture and sports sectors, MoU on cooperation in nuclear and radiation safe­ty rules for peacefully using atomic energy, MoU on coop­eration in geological explora­tion business and technology, MoU on cooperation in space exploration and usage arena with peaceful purpose, and a joint declaration on success­ful coordination over the draft agreement on investment pro­motion and protection between the two countries.

 

The SAC Chairman Prime Minister and the President of the Russian Federation re­leased the joint declaration of the two countries to media. The joint declaration and dialogues between both sides will be pub­lished separately. — MNA/TTA
