Myanmar Anti-Corruption Commission delegation attends 2023 ASEAN-PAC Capacity-Building Workshop

The 2023 ASEAN-PAC Capacity-Building Workshop of ASEAN-PAC member countries took place in Jakarta, Indonesia, on 30 and 31 May, and the delegation led by Anti-Corruption Commission Member U Aung Myint Lwin participated in it.

 

The workshop was held under the theme “Anti-Corruption Education and Corruption Prevention Strategies on a National Scale”, and participants discussed sharing experiences, challenges and good practices between experts and implementers regarding anti-corruption education, development of a legal framework for corruption prevention in member countries, prevention of corruption using digital technology, and public participation.

 

At the workshop, Commission Member U Aung Myint Lwin clarified the commission’s legal framework development activities to combat corruption, the status of implementation of educational programmes to promote awareness and integrity by drawing the anti-corruption strategic plan (2022-2025), cooperation in promoting righteousness to accelerate corruption prevention activities on a national scale, performance and achievement of the edutainment programme to promote integrity in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, future plans, experiences, and challenges.

 

Then, ASEAN-PAC member countries discussed the prevention and awareness campaigns and the establishment of a legal framework to raise awareness of anti-corruption through the education sector. Myanmar has been fully participating in international cooperation since becoming a member of ASEAN-PAC. — MNA/CT
