ORAL hearings in the case be­tween The Gambia and Myan­mar are currently held at the International Court of Justice in The Hague, the Netherlands, from 12 to 29 January, with Myanmar’s second round of submissions having begun at 3 pm local time on 28 January.

 

Myanmar’s legal team re­sponded to questions from the judges and argued that the ev­idence presented by The Gam­bia lacks sufficient credibility.

 

Myanmar’s Lead Counsel and Advocate, Mr Christopher Staker, first delivered the open­ing statement of Myanmar’s second round of oral argu­ments.

 

Myanmar’s lawyer, Mr Da­vid Hooper, then presented his submission while Myanmar’s lawyer, Ms Leigh Lawrie, re­sponded to questions from Judge Brent.

 

The second round of argu­ments by Myanmar was held at 10 am local time yesterday. — MNA/KTZH
