Myanmar and China discussed cooperation in taking full security for ensuring peace and stability in border regions and implementation of relevant projects between two countries.
Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win who is in Qingdao to attend the Green Development Forum of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Countries attended the Myanmar-China bilateral meeting at Anren Hall of Qingdao International Conference Centre at 5 pm Local Standard Time yesterday.
Also present at the meeting together with Vice-Senior General were Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Min Thu, Myanmar Ambassador to China U Tin Maung Swe, Director-General U Zaw Tun Oo of the Protocol Department, Military Attaché Brig- Gen Zaw Zaw Naing and officials. Ms Shen Yueyue, Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization was accompanied by Chinese Communist Party Committee Secretary of Shandong Province Mr Lin Wu, Chinese Communist Party Committee Deputy Secretary of Shandong Province and Governor Mr Zhou Naixiang, Vice President of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Ms Cui Li and officials.
They frankly exchanged views on enhancement of the Shwemyo Pauk- Phaw relations based on five principles of the Peaceful Co-existence, promotion of cooperation in partnership relations and multi-strategic cooperation between the two countries, cooperation in taking full security for ensuring peace and stability in border regions and implementation of relevant projects between two countries, exchange of information to combat illegal cross-border measures, eliminate online gambling and prevent narcotic drugs, efforts for promotion of bilateral trade, increase of economic cooperation and investment between the two countries, and endeavours of the State Administration Council in successfully implementing the five-point Roadmap and holding the multiparty democratic general election.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and the Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization had documentary photos taken.
In the evening, the Myanmar delegation led by the Vice-Senior General together with delegates to the forum was hosted dinner by the Vice Chairwoman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and President of Good-Neighbourliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization at Yellow River Hall of Qingdao International Conference Centre. — MNA/TTA
