A Myanmar delegation led by Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Min­ister for Science and Technolo­gy, attended the Fourth Forum on Future Technologies, held on 25 and 26 February at the World Trade Centre in Moscow, the Russian Federation.

 

 

At the forum, exhibitions and panel discussions were organized on research into the production of bio-economy products, the development of new products from waste ma­terials through the application of biotechnology, the nature of bio-ecosystems, the creation of biotechnology-based computa­tional systems, the application of biotechnology in the agricul­ture and health sectors, the es­tablishment of necessary legal and regulatory frameworks for biotechnology development, and the implementation of green energy systems.

 

The President of the Rus­sian Federation, Vladimir Putin, attended as a special guest and, in his address, he emphasized the importance of biotechnolo­gy, information technology and artificial intelligence in the field of future technologies.

 

The Union Minister for Science and Technology was accompanied by Dr Tin Htut, Deputy Minister for Agricul­ture, Livestock and Irrigation, U Thwin Aung, Deputy Minister for Industry, U Min Min, Deputy Minister for Commerce, and Dr Aye Tun, Deputy Minister for Health. The delegation took part in relevant panel discus­sions, toured the exhibitions, and held discussions with ex­perts and researchers in the respective technological sec­tors. — MNA/KNN
