THE second-day programme of the Myanmar Engineering Education centennial cele­bration took place yesterday at Naypyitaw State Polytech­nic University.

 

The event featured five parallel fora, organized by the Myanmar Engineering Council, Myanmar Engi­neering Society, Myanmar Computer Federation, and Myanmar Architects Coun­cil. Chairpersons, vice-chair­persons, and senior officials from these organizations, as well as professors, associate professors, and faculty mem­bers from the Department of Advanced Science and Tech­nology, served as chairs and co-chairs for the sessions.

 

In the morning, Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Union Minister for the Ministry of Science and Technology and Chair­man of the Engineering Education Centennial Cele­bration Steering Committee, observed the ongoing Engi­neering Battle Competition alongside officials, students, and guests. The contest in­volved nine teams of students from technology and comput­er universities, showcasing their knowledge in various disciplines through perfor­mances.

 

Following this, the Un­ion minister and officials at­tended a quiz competition, offering encouragement and awarding prizes to the win­ning teams.

 

The day also included talk shows addressing topics, such as technology transfer, satellite technology develop­ment and applications, aug­mented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), extended reality (XR), and the metaverse in engineering. Experts deliv­ered presentations on pat­enting research findings, while students shared their experiences from competi­tions held domestically and internationally.

 

Additionally, the event hosted hackathons and e-sport competitions, pro­viding diverse platforms for showcasing talent and inno­vation. — MNA/KZL
