BY shortening the entertainment programme, the Myanmar Film Academy Awards Ceremony has been planned to conclude early this year, said Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization (MMPO) Secretary U Chan Thar Kyi Soe in a press conference.
The entertainment programme by movie, Thabin and music artists makes the event longer and the audience bored, that is why this year will shorten it, he added.
The event has been scheduled to be held at the Myanmar International Convention Centre I (MICC I) in Nay Pyi Taw on 7 February, and the Ministry of Information will sponsor Academy gold statues and a gold star that weighs 5 ticals.
“Awards will be presented in accordance with the selection by the award selection team. The Ministry of Information will take charge of the venue, accommodation and the red carpet and stage arrangement. The ministry has supported Academy statues and stars as well as for special guests and security,” he said.
Including a special award, 11 awards will be presented as usual, and the lifetime film award and Myanmar Academy Fashion Award will be given. — Htun Htun/ ZS
