FRIENDSHIP and coop­eration between the two nations will be further strengthened and enhanced through an official visit of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

 

Chairman of the State Ad­ministration Council Prime Min­ister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in Moscow of the Russian Federation to pay an official visit, met Prime Minister of the Russian Feder­ation Mr Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustim at the meeting hall of the Russian Federation Gov­ernment House yesterday af­ternoon.

 

On arrival at the house, the Senior General was welcomed by the Russian Federation Prime Minister. They had doc­umentary photos taken, and the meeting took place there.

Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were Joint Secretary General Ye Win Oo, Council member Gen­eral Nyo Saw, Union ministers, the Chief Minister of Bago Re­gion, Myanmar Ambassador to the Russian Federation U Thit Linn Ohn, senior Tatmadaw of­ficers from the Office of the Com­mander-in-Chief, the Myanmar Military Attaché (Army, Navy and Air) to the Russian Feder­ation and officials. The Russian Federation Prime Minister was accompanied by ministers of the Russian government and offi­cials.

 

At the meeting, the Rus­sian Federation Prime Minis­ter extended greetings, saying that they are deeply honoured and delighted by the friendly visit of the Senior General to their country. Myanmar is a key partner and ally of Russia in the Asia-Pacific region. Through this visit, they believe that the friend­ship and cooperation between the two nations will be further strengthened and enhanced.

 

In his response, the Sen­ior General said that he was delighted to meet the Russian Federation Prime Minister. The diplomatic relations between the two countries have turned 77 years, and friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries are improving. The Senior General expressed his thanks to them for warmly welcoming the Myanmar dele­gation and himself.

 

They exchanged views on promotion of bilateral relations and cooperation, promotion of cooperation in trade, industry, manufacturing, agriculture and investment sectors, cooperation in aerospace and satellite tech­nology, development of tourism industry between the two coun­tries, invitation to Russian busi­nesspersons to invest in Myan­mar, signing the memorandum of understanding between the two countries, and exchange of visit between high-ranking offi­cials of the governments from both countries. — MNA/TTA
