Former Myanmar lethwei champion Tun Tun Min beat Thailand’s Htani Liit, a former Muay Thai champion, in a Myanmar-Thailand traditional Lethwei Challenge Fight titled Lethwei Nation Fight yesterday at the Theinphyu Lethwei Stadium in Yangon.

Tun Tun Min, who had been suffering from a knee problem and had taken a long break last year, delivered brilliant continuous punches in the head to the Thai fighter.

Tun Tun Min dominated the first round with the use of elbows and well-timed kicks. The Thai fighter was floored twice in the first round, but he managed to avoid getting knocked out.

In the second round, both fighters put up a calculated fight.

In a thrilling third round, Tun Tun Min upped his challenge with continuous punches and knee attacks, but Thailand’s fighter stood firm.

Tun Tun Min once again dominated the fourth round, with some miscalculations from the Thai fighter. Finally, Tun Tun Min knocked Htani Liit out with continuous punches, leaving him with a bloody face on the floor.—Lynn Thit (Tgi)
