The 1st Myanmar-Norway Foreign Office Consultations was held on 3 December 2019 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Nay Pyi Taw.

The meeting was cochaired by U Soe Han, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms Marianne Hagen, State Secretary of the Foreign Affairs of Norway.

During the meeting, the two sides cordially exchanged views on promotion of bilateral relations, and reviewed and explored ways to foster the complete range of bilateral cooperation including trade and investment, telecommunication, electricity and energy, natural resources management, climate change, environmental conservation and development cooperation.

The Permanent Secretary also appraised on the Government’s priorities and ongoing efforts for peace and national reconciliation and recent developments in Rakhine State.

They also exchanged views on matters pertaining to closer collaboration in regional and international fora particularly in the United Nations, ASEAN and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). —MNA
