According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar’s national handicraft lacquerware items were displayed in the ASEAN Week 2023 ceremony held at the ASEAN-Korea Centre.
The ASEAN Week 2023 exhibition is being held at Korea’s COEX Convention Centre in Seoul from 8 to 11 November 2023, so that people can learn about the traditional arts and crafts of ASEAN member countries.
Myanmar Ambassador to the Republic of Korea U Thant Sin, along with heads of embassies of the ASEAN member countries based in Seoul, attended and opened the exhibition by cutting the ribbon.
During the event, the Secretary-General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre, Mr Hae-yong Kim said in his opening remarks that efforts were made to display the national handicraft artworks from ASEAN member countries and Korea as a cultural exhibition so that the Korean people could observed about them. In his opening remarks, he thanked the embassies of ASEAN member countries for helping display traditional handicraft items.
Alternate Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Seoul, Lao Ambassador Mr Songkane Luangmunithone, also gave a speech of honour. — ASH/KZL
