ORGANIZED with the support of the Chinese Embassy to Myanmar, a tour group of Myanmar students and parents has departed for Harbin City in Heilongjiang Province to experience the renowned annual Harbin Ice and Snow Festival.

The programme, facilitated by the Bowen School with assistance from the Chinese Embassy, aims to strengthen people-to-people ties and foster friendship as part of the ongoing bilateral relations between Myanmar and China.

“Our goal is to provide the people of Myanmar with an opportunity to experience the joy of China’s ice and snow world, explore the space museum, and deepen cultural exchanges between our two countries. Tour participants will also gain firsthand exposure to Chinese culture in the northernmost province,” said Mr Song Le, director of the Bowen School.

Harbin City, well-known for ice and snow tourism in China, will host a festival featuring wonderlands adorned with Chinese-style sculptures and snow-crafted architecture. Visitors explored the Russian-inspired Zhongyang Pedestrian Street and its iconic churches, adding a unique cultural dimension to the experience.

The Bowen School, established in Myanmar in 2016 and registered at the Ministry of Education, offers comprehensive Chinese language programmes alongside other subjects for elementary, primary and lower secondary classes, with instruction provided by teachers certified with international Chinese teaching licences. — TMT
