Myanmar’s border trade with neighbouring country, Thailand, registered US$145.342 million in July alone in 2023-2024FY, according to figures released by the Ministry of Commerce.

 

From 1 to 31 July, the country earned $46.361 million from the export through the Myawady border trade camp while the import reached $98.981 million.

 

The Myanmar-Thai bilat­eral trade is conducted via the Myawady border using more than 500 trucks daily. Myanmar mainly exports corn, cassava, onion, marine products and agricultural produce and oth­ers while medicine and medi­cal supplies, farming devices, machines and foodstuffs are imported to the country.

 

The imports consist of an­imal feed, medicine, bicycle, garments, stationary, car spare parts, construction materials, motorbike parts, medicines, packaging materials, electron­ic devices, foodstuffs, shoes, fruits, fertilizers, commodities, industrial materials, painting, lubricants, types of machinery, fishing devices and other goods.
