A Myanmar-Thailand Lethwei fight headlined “Myanmar-Thai Lethwei Challenge Fight” will take place at the Diamond Plaza in Mandalay at 6 p.m. on 27 March.  

 

The Lethwei fight will be under the supervision of the Myanmar Lethwei Federation of the Ministry of Health and Sports. There will be altogether eight bouts in the Lethwei challenge. Kyaw Swar Win, a young Lethwei warrior will face off a Muay Thai fighter in the main event. Tun Min Naing, the younger brother of former open weight Lethwei champion Tun Tun Min takes on a Thai rival in the co-main event. Promising Chin Lethwei fighter Aut Chin Lay will also face off a Muay Thai warrior.

 

Soe Maung Oo from Mandalay’s Yadanarbon Club will fight against Tun Min Latt, another younger brother of ex open weight champion Tun Tun Min. Myanmar Lethwei fighters such as Naing Bo and Moe Hmoung will compete with Thai opponents under Myanmar’s Lethwei rules.The Lethwei event will be broadcast live on SKYNET channel.—By Kyaw Htike Soe
