The Government of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Government of the Kingdom of Thailand signed an agreement on the management, maintenance and use of the second Myanmar-Thai Friendship Bridge at the Ministry of Construction in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

 

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw said the bridge would be much beneficial for not only Myanmar and Thailand but also other regional countries as it was located on the trade route of Myanmar’s Myawady and Thailand’s Mae Sot as well as on the East-West Economic Corridor that crosses Da Nang city in Viet Nam and Mawlamyine city in Myanmar.


Transport Minister of Thailand Mr Saksayam Chidchob also delivered a speech.


Union Minister U Han Zaw and Transport Minister of Thailand Mr Saksayam Chidchob then signed the agreement and exchanged the signed documents.
