THE 2022 ASEAN Futsal Championship group stage matches continued in Thailand yesterday, with the Myanmar Futsal team scoring big against Australia.

 

On the second day of Group B, the Myanmar team defeated Australia 6-1 while Viet Nam beat Timor-Leste 7-1.

 

Myanmar scored four crucial points in the group matches against Viet Nam and Australia, giving them an excellent chance to reach the semi-finals. The Myanmar team also showed good form in this match and beat Australia without conceding a goal.

 

Thaing Bwe Aung scored a winning goal for Team Myanmar at 32 minutes, Nyein Min Soe at 16 and 25 minutes and Hein Min Soe at 24 minutes, respectively.

 

The last goal was an own goal scored by an Australian player. In Group B, Myanmar and Viet Nam have earned four points each by winning one match and a match in a draw while the Australian Team has earned three points with one win and one loss.

 

Timor-Leste has no point with two losses.

 

The final day of Group B will be played today at 10:30 am Myanmar Standard Time between Viet Nam and Australia. The match between Myanmar and Timor-Leste will be played at 12:30 pm Myanmar Standard Time.

 

Myanmar will advance to the semi-finals even with a draw result in the final group match, and if they win without conceding a goal, they will be able to take first place in the group. — Ko Nyi Lay/GNLM
