THE Myanmar Women’s League for the 2025-26 season will commence on 22 April. The league matches were arranged to start on 1 April under the earlier schedule, but it was postponed due to the Mandalay earthquake, which struck on 28 March.
The league will comprise nine women’s football clubs, with newcomer Yangon Royal. So, Defending Champion ISPE, Yangon United, Ayeyawady, Myawady, Shan United, YREO, Thitsa Arman, Young Lionesses and Yangon Royal will participate.
The first leg of the league will be held from 22 April to 30 September, and the second leg from 4 October to 30 January. During the last six championships, Myawady and ISPE secured the championship three times each.
In Match 1 on 22 April, Yangon United will face ISPE at Yangon United Sports Complex, while Shan United will take on Ayeyawady at Padonma Stadium. On 23 April, Thuwunna Youth Training Centre will host the match between Myawady and YREO, whereas Thitsa Arman will play against Young Lionesses at Padonma Stadium. — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
