A ceremony to honour the Myanmar women’s national football team, which won champions in the Four-Nation Women’s Football Invitational Tournament held in Nepal from 17 to 26 February, took place yesterday at Novotel Yangon Max Hotel.
During the ceremony, a video recap showcasing the team’s performance throughout the tournament was screened. Officials made congratulatory messages and presented K573 million to the team.
During the ceremony, forward Win Theingi Tun and striker May Thet Lu expressed gratitude on behalf of the Myanmar women’s national team. The event concluded with a group photo session with attendees.
In the tournament, Myanmar competed in a round-robin format against Nepal, Kyrgyzstan and Lebanon. The team secured a 3-1 victory over Lebanon, a 5-0 win over Kyrgyzstan and played to a 2-2 draw against host Nepal, finishing as group leaders and advancing to the final.
