Nawnkhio, 12 January
A glass bridge, the first of its kind in Myanmar, is set to be built near Gohteik Viaduct in Nawnkhio Township, Northern Shan State.
The glass bridge will be built on the 17 acres of land at a cost of US$ 5 million and is designed to include a relaxation zone, playground, bungalows, tents and restaurants. A Memorandum of Understating (MoU) has been inked with Shan State government for the project and a MoA will reportedly be signed soon.
The glass bridge will be 160 ft. high, 200 ft. long and 120 ft. wide with a tower-like structure. The project, led by Cherry Muse, will bring together interested local businesses and create a viable partnership that will create jobs for parents and villagers in and around the glass bridge site.
The project will take about two years to complete and is expected to be open to public in 2022, according to the developer.
