THE Department of Small-Scale Industries under the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development held the opening ceremony of a livelihood-support con­sumer goods produc­tion technology training course at Shweset AG Church in Myitkyina yes­terday.

 

U Aung Tin Soe, head of the Bhamo Dis­trict Department of Small-Scale Industries delivered the opening remarks, saying that by attending such small-scale industry training courses, trainees would be able to establish and operate small business­es at their homes, and that the income earned from such activities could create new sources of in­come for their families. He added that the liveli­hood-support consumer goods production tech­nology training course was opened with such an objective.

 

Instructors also ex­plained the lessons to be taught during the train­ing, including methods of producing dishwashing liquid, hand soap, laundry detergent, multi-purpose cleaner, body wash, fab­ric softener, various fa­cial soap bars, Fuji soap cream, shampoo, scrub, natural shampoo and nat­ural body wash.

 

A total of 20 train­ees who are temporarily displaced persons cur­rently taking shelter in Myitkyina Township are attending the training. Skilled instructors will provide both theoretical and practical training on consumer goods produc­tion technologies from 15 to 19 June, for five days, until trainees can estab­lish their own businesses. — Karan (Rural)
