Myittha, 25 March
In Myittha Township, located in Kyaukse District, Mandalay Region, local farmers are planting summer sesame and other crops, utilizing water from dams, lakes, and small reservoirs to ensure a healthy supply of nutritious oils for consumption. The planting is taking place at the farm of U Win Myint in Shwekyar Village in the township.
Local farmers are using tractors to irrigate and prepare the farmland. In summer sesame cultivation, each acre of land requires two bushels of seeds. The costs of tractor use, seed sowing, pesticides, fertilizer, and plant care are all factored in.
To ensure the success of growing summer sesame and other crops in Myittha Township, farmers are selecting regionally suitable seeds and employing scientific farming methods. The Sinyadana-3 sesame variety, which is well-suited to the region, is being widely cultivated to ensure good yields.— Township IPRD
