The bridge named “Nantmyitkha” on Mandalay-Lashio-Bhamo-Myitkyina Road in Winemaw Township, Kachin State was held this morning.

At the ceremony, Kachin State Chief Minister Dr. Khat Aung gave remarks and an official from the Department of Bridges clarified the salient points of the bridge construction. Then, a community leader also spoke words of thanks to the officials.

Officials from the State Government cut the ceremonial ribbon to open the bridge. Then, the State Chief Minister also pressed the button to open the stone inscription of the bridge and sprinkled the scented water on the stone inscription.

 

The bridge is linking Myitkyina with Winemaw Townships and it measures 302 ft in length, 48 ft in width with four lanes. The vehicle weighing 75 tons will be allowed to pass through the bridge. The bridge which was constructed on 20 February 2017 has now developed into a bridge with four lanes.
