A combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Narcotic Drug Squad stopped and searched a PAJERO car driven by Hlaing Mo Win with Naing Lin Oo, Aung Soe Lin and Kyaw Zin Tun on board at the checkpoint near Phawdaw Village in Thabeikkyin Township of Mandalay Region on August 29 at about 6:15 pm and seized 2.1 kilos of heroin in the car.

In a similar incident, police members raided the house of Kyaw Yin in Ward-5 in the town of Lashio, Shan State on August 30 at about 2:30 pm and arrested Kyaw Yin and Mah Khaungnwe along with 1.3 kilograms of Ketamine, 0.07 kilo of happy water, 550 tablets of ecstasy and 400 tablets of Happy Five.

The offenders have been prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
