Drugs valued at K23.2 million were seized in Mingaladon Township, Yangon Region, while additional narcotic drugs worth K8.2 million were confiscated in Lashio, Shan State, according to the Myanmar Police Force.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint anti-narcotics team searched the residence of 25-year-old Htet Wai Phyo in Ward 2(A), Mingaladon Township, at around 7:00 p.m. on March 16. During the operation, authorities seized 20,200 methamphetamine tablets (valued at K1,000 per tablet, totaling K20.2 million) and 100 grams of crystal methamphetamine (commonly known as “ice”), estimated at K30,000 per gram, with a total value of K3.0 million. Htet Wai Phyo has been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.

In a separate case, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on March 17, a joint team from the Narcotics Control Police searched the home of Lauk Kham (also known as Akham), 32, in Thanlwin Ward, Lashio, Shan State. The search resulted in the seizure of 8,000 methamphetamine tablets (valued at K1,000 each, totaling K8.0 million) and 10 grams of heroin (valued at K20,000 per gram, amounting to K200,000). Lauk Kham (aka) Akham has also been charged under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law.—MNA
