National Covid-19 committee receives donations of well-wishers

The National-Level Central Committee for COVID-19 Prevention, Control and Treatment have received cash and hospital equipment donated by business companies and individuals yesterday.

Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe, the Secretary (2) of the central committee, attended the donation ceremony held at his office in Nay Pyi Taw.

On behalf of the well-wishers, U Nay Win Tun, the Vice Chairman of Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association, explained the donation.

Union Minister for Construction U Han Zaw also talked on the needs of cooperation and coordination in fighting against the Covid-19 pandemic.

Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe expressed thanks for the donation which will be used effectively to prevent transmission of the disease.

The Union Minister and senior health officials then presented honorary certificates of the donations to the Myanmar Gems and Jewellery Entrepreneurs Association and the jewellery companies for a total of K410.05 million in cash and medical equipment worth about K14.26 million, TZTM Group of Companies and Mingalar Thiri Hotel family for K30 million, Mya Htike Company Limited family for medical equipment worth about K16.48 million, the J-Mr Yan Changzhi ZTE Co., Ltd worth about K11.2 million and Shwe Pyae Sone Robe textile distribution family for K3.06 million in cash.

In the afternoon, U Paik Htwe, the secretary of CEC and officials of Union Solidarity and Development Party, donated K50 million for measures against Covid-19, and the Union Minister for Health and Sports received it. —MNA(Translated by Aung Khin)
