DONORS presented cash, medicines and pharmaceuticals to the National-Level Central Committee on Prevention, Control and Treatment of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and the Ministry of Health and Sports at the meeting hall of MoHS in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.

On behalf of donors, the Director-General of Directorate of Hotels and Tourism under the Ministry of Hotel and Tourism U Maung Maung Kyaw and Phulilite Group of Company, Laukkai Township, Kokant Self-Administered Zone Director U Sein Myint explained their donations.

Union Minister Dr Myint Htwe then expressed his appreciations on the donations which will also be used for the upgrade of intensive care units for COVID-19 patients. He added that the medical equipment will be beneficial even after COVID-19. Union Minister for Health and Sports Dr Myint Htwe said this collective support gives great encouragement to combatting COVID-19 across the nation.

Next, the Union Minister accepted the donations and gave certificates of honour in return.

The contributions of cash and medical supplies at the ceremony were K100 million from 11 associations of Myanmar Tourism Federation, Ministry of Hotels and Tourism and FID Hotels; K115 million from Chairman of Fulilight Group of Company, Laukkai Township, Kokant Self-Administered Zone Thirithudhamma Manijawtadara U Li Kyein Chan (a) U Hlo Arr Pauk, director Thirithudhamma Manijawtadara U Maung Maung; K100 million from Kokant Social Development Association; face masks, N 95 masks, PPEs, goggles, gloves and thermometers worth of US$61,000 from SPIC Yunnan International Power Investment Co Ltd; US$30,000 from Eight-Japan Engineering Consultants Inc (Japan); US$10,000 from Multi World Company Ltd; PPEs, masks, gloves, goggles and shoe covers worth of 8.57 million; K7.6 million from Myanmar families from Australia; K3.635 million from Mitaus Co Ltd; K2 million from Independence Lawer Association, Myanmar; K1 million, and Coffeemix and hand sanitizer worth of 0.3 million from Ever Sunny Industrial Co Ltd; K1.16 million from basic lab Technician-3 in the whole country; K1 million from Ma May Myo Lwin now in Japan, K1 million from U Aung Ko Naing and Daw Hnin Phyu Phyu Aung and family, Yangon; K1 million from Myanmar Volleyball Social Association and K770,000 from Department of Higher Education.—MNA (Translated by TTN)
