A pre-Christmas activity programme for children was held on 21 December at the Children’s Library of the National Library (Yangon), located in Pabedan Township, Yangon Region, according to sources from the National Library (Yangon).

The programme began at 1 pm and included various activities for children, such as storytelling sessions featuring Christmas tales, collaborative crafts where children created Christmas tree and star decorations, and a talk on the benefits of tree planting to enhance the children’s knowledge.

The National Library (Yangon) also shared that its Children’s Library organizes weekly storytelling sessions every Saturday. These sessions welcome external storytellers who engage with children by narrating stories and conducting interactive discussions based on the themes and characters from the stories.

Additionally, documentary films donated by the Yangon Film School (YFS) are screened weekly for the public at the Audio/Video studio on the first floor of the National Library. The screenings take place every Saturday at 12:30 pm, featuring one documentary film each week, and are free of charge. — ASH/ TRK
