THE Yangon Region government, the Myanmar Space Agency, and the Space Museum (Yangon) will jointly organize a basic education-level space art, cartoon, and poster competition from 27 February to 1 March at the Space Museum (Yangon) within the People’s Square, according to the museum.
It aims to inspire the next generation of youth to take an interest in space science and technology. Contestants will be evaluated based on creativity and innovation, artistic skills, and the harmony between Myanmar cultural elements and the theme of space. Themes include 'Space Hero' for primary level, 'Exploring the Universe' for middle level and 'Future Space Technology' for high level.
Winners will receive medals and certificates of honour, while all participants will be awarded certificates and gifts. The cash prizes for first, second, third and 10 consolation awards are K500,000, K400,000, K300,000, K200,000 each for primary level (28 February), K700,000, K600,000, K500,000, K300,000 each for middle level (1 March) and K1,000,000, K900,000, K800,000, and K500,000 each for high level (27 February), respectively. The ceremony will be held on 4 March.
Interested students must register through their respective schools and submit their applications to the Yangon Region Education Officer’s Office by 19 February. — MT/ZN
