Natmauk Township has designated 24,925 acres for the cultivation of rain-fed rice, aiming to achieve a surplus in local production. As of now, 5,820 acres have already been planted. The Township Agriculture Department is closely monitoring planting efforts to ensure the target is achieved and potentially exceeded.

Farmers in Natmauk Township primarily grow rice varieties such as Manaw Thukha, Sin Thukha, Eyarmin, Yadanar Toe, Sar Pho Tha, and GW-11. These varieties are selected based on their suitability to local conditions and farmer preferences. Cultivation methods include direct seeding and the use of rice planters, with technical guidance from the Township Agriculture Department.

To ensure successful cultivation and high yields, the Agriculture Department is distributing rice seeds well-suited to the region and promoting proper planting techniques. Additionally, the Township Irrigation and Water Utilization Management Department is collaborating with farmers to provide water through a rotational irrigation system, supported by systematic technical assistance.— Hla Win
