            Nearly all acres of summer paddy cultivated in Pwintbyu Township, Minbu District, Magway Region have been harvested, according to the Township Department of Agriculture.

            In the township, a total of 12,200 acres of summer paddy were cultivated and harvesting began in June. Now, all acres have been fully harvested, with an average yield of 104.06 baskets per acre. Officials from the township department of agriculture provided farmers with agricultural knowledge and guidance, including advice on choosing high-yielding seeds, applying proper cultivation techniques, preventing the pets and insect risks and storing produce systematically.

If paddy can be cultivated to achieve higher yields, it will not only ensure sufficient domestic consumption in the region but also allow surplus produce to be exported abroad. Furthermore, if production aligns with market demand—meaning supply and demand becomes balanced and prices will remain stable, and the socio-economic conditions of the people will improve. Therefore, efforts should be made to expand paddy cultivation in all regions, according to Daw Moe Moe Wai, the Township Officer of the Agriculture Department in Pwintbyu Township.
