Under the guidance of Ministry of Border Affairs and Kayah State Government, an opening ceremony of new school building for No. 2 Basic Education High School (branch) of Ngwetaung village, donated by Department of Progress of Border Areas and National Races, Nippon Foundation and local donors was convened at the school, Ngwetaung village, Demoso Township, Kayah State this morning.

Chairman of Kayah State Progress of Border Areas, National Races Implementation Committee Chief Minister of Kayah State U L Phaung Sho gave a speech, underlining education is an essential part for implementation of regional development tasks and the Nippon Foundation will offer 20 school buildings throughout the Kayah State from 2018 to 2022 in order to promote the education sector, nurturing the students of good quality for the future and others.

 

Executive Director of Nippon Foundation Mr. Yuji Mori explained about the donation of new school building. Ministry of Education and the school board of trustees received related documents, K 8.4 million development funds from the executive director before presenting a certificate of honor. Next, the chief minister and the ministers of Kayah State Government donated a total of K 2.3 million.

 

The chief minister, Minister of Kayah State of Security and Border Affairs Col Myint Wai, the executive director, Director of State Development Department and Director of State Education Department cut the ribbons to formally open the ceremony and planted trees to mark the opening of new school building.

 

The new building is 120 feet long, 30 feet wide with a use of K over 56.6 million. –Yeeyal (Demoso)
