With the aim of ensuring drinking water safety in summer, Nyaung-U Township Department of Rural Development is digging a new well in Kyuakbyinkan village in Nyaung-U Township, Mandalay Region.

The digging well with 700 ft in depth was begun on 5 February and construction of a water treatment plant and water tanker capable of storing 5000 gallons of water are being undertaken to meet the deadline.

Upon completion, water can be distributed to a total of 1667 people from 545 households in Kyaukbyingan village in all seasons, said Township Officer from Township Department of Rural Development U Tay Zar Tun.
