A newly born dead child with umbilical cord was found abandoned in the compound of Monyin people hospital in Monyin Township, Kachin state yesterday. 

Soon after a report received, Police Sub-Inspector Kyaw Min Naing and members with witnesses went to the scene to inspect the incident. The police found that a newly born dead child was lying in a prone position. According to enquiry, Ma Soe Sanda Tun, a pregnant in the hospital for medical treatment, felt pain in the abdomen and went to a toilet in maternity ward where she was forced to abort, abandoning the dead child. 

The police brought a charge against her for abandoning a newly born dead child without informing officials concerned, according to Police Sub-Inspector Kyaw Min Naing.—Ni Toe
