Nine policemen have been killed in a coordinated attack by AA insurgent group in Ponnagyun Township, Rakhine State on 9 March.

 

The attack took place at Yoetayoke police outpost in Ponnagyun Township lasted about 30 minutes in which nine police officers were killed and one other went missing. Around 60 fighters from the Arakan Army (AA) launched an attack on an outpost where a police squad led by Police Inspector Saw Thein Tun is performing law enforcement activities.

 

The policemen who were killed in the attack are from Yoetayoke Village and other areas in Ponnagyun Township.—MNA
