North Korea's foreign ministry has rejected US President Donald Trump's calls for a meeting with the country's leader, Kim Jong Un.
North Korea's former First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Kim Kye Gwan, issued a statement on Monday through state-run media.
The statement reads "If the US does not really want to let go of its dialogue with us, it should make a decision to withdraw its hostile policy of viewing us as an enemy."
It said the country is not interested in a summit that is "useless to itself."
The rebuttal comes after Trump took to Twitter on Sunday, urging the North Korean leader to "act quickly and get the deal done. See you soon!"
