A container truck caught fire in the compound of Myanmar’s industrial port in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region on 30 September, according to a source from the Ministry of Home Affairs.


The stationary truck caught fire at about 9:20 a.m. on 30 September while waiting for loading goods onto the vehicle. The fire is believed to have started from an electric wire shock and the front seat of the truck was badly damaged by the flame which was extinguished five minutes later.


In connection with the case, the truck driver identified as Thet Aung, 25 years old is being questioned by the police.
