No casualties reported in YeU fire

No casualties were reported after a fire broke out at a house in Aung Mingalar Ward, YeU Township, Sagaing Region yesterday morning, said U Aye Myint, Assistant Director of the township fire brigade.
    

 

Upon receiving information about the fire, firefighters and policemen rushed to the scene of the fire. They in conjunction with residents brought the blaze under control at about 4:20 a.m. and completely extinguished the flame about 20 minutes later with the use of four fire engines and four water tankers. The estimated loss of property including 100 sets of monk robe, 15 umbrellas and an air-conditioner is over Ks. 2.1 million.
    

 

The fire is believed to have started from an overheated socket in the house. Action has been taken against the house owner identified as Daw Htwe Htwe Chit, 65 years of age over fire negligence by the local police station.—Moe Thauk (Shwebo)
