Myothit, 28 July
A wooden bridge on the Myothit-Ywathar Road in Myothit Town, Sagaing Region collapsed at about 4:30 a.m. on July 28 following heavy rains in the area.
The bridge measuring 130 ft. in length and 15 ft. in width was built from the funds allotted by the Ministry of Border Affairs in the fiscal year 2016-2017. Nearly 90 percent of the bridge was badly damaged by floodwaters from the creek following incessant rains in the area.
The town administrator and local officials rushed to the site of collapsed bridge and efforts are being made to repair the damaged part of the bridge.
