NOK Air, Thai Smile, and Air Asia will resume flying to and from Myanmar in June, according to the statement of the Yangon International Airport.
Commercial airlines had been suspended due to COVID-19 since 29 March 2020, and Myanmar resumed its first commercial flight from Singapore-Yangon flight on 17 April 2022. Along with international airlines such as Malaysia Airlines and Singapore Airlines, two Myanmar airlines, MAI and MNA, are also offering international flights. Thai Smile will resume on 1 June; Air Asia will resume on 3 June, and Nok Air will resume on 1 July.
Myanmar National Airlines-MNA is flying regularly to Singapore, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur, and the Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is also flying to Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Tokyo, Singapore, and Seoul, Guangzhou, Dubai, Phnom Penh, Kolkata, and Delhi on designated days regularly. From 1 April, fully-vaccinated travellers will no longer need to show entry approval and be quarantined in Singapore, according to the statements.
From 17 April until the end of the month since the resumption of commercial flights in Myanmar, there were 6,455 arriving travellers and 9,593 departing travellers, a total of 16,048 travellers, according to the Department of Civil Aviation. — TWA/GNLM
